Garlic Bread Rolls – Lusciously Delicious!

After baking garlic bread many times, I wanted to try a different style of garlic bread and this style seemed perfect. Ingredients (for bread):

  • 1 tsp Instant Yeast
  • 3/4 cup water
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1.5 cup all purpose flour, maida (also can mix 50:50 wheat flour and maida)
  • Milk 2 tbsp
  • Yoghurt 2 tsp
  • Salt (as per taste)
  • Olive oil 1-2 tbsp
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp oregano

Ingredients (for filling):

  • 2 tbsp butter (room temperature)
  • Chopped coriander leaves
  • 4-5 cloves garlic (finely chopped)
  • 1 tsp Oregano seasoning (mix black pepper, ground oregano leaves and garlic salt for making seasoning at home)

Method (for filling): Mix butter, chopped coriander leaves, chopped garlic, also add oregano seasoning. Method (for bread): Add sugar and yeast to a 3/4 cup warm water (should be warm, not very hot). Leave the cup in a dark place for 15 min so that the solution rises and bubbles up ( I generally keep it in switched off microwave). Take flour, add oregano, salt, black pepper, oil. Now add the yeast solution, little by little, add milk, yoghurt and make a little sticky dough, with the help of dry flour and your muscles, put some nice boxes with your hands, for the gluten to develop. Oil the container and put the dough inside it n grease the dough also, a little. Keep it in a warm place for 2 hours. Cover it nicely with a cling wrap (I generally preheat oven at 180 for 5 min n then turn it off, keep the container inside switched off oven for 2 hours).

Now roll out a portion of bread (like a big chapati) and put butter spread on it. And roll it as shown in pic below.       Now cut the bread  into two halves and another two equal halves, so that we get 4 equal halves. Repeat this procedure and Set all of them on a baking dish.    Top them with left over butter mixture, Also can add grated mozzarella cheese and seasame seeds, I added cheese slice.    Preheat oven for 10 min at 180 degrees and bake the rolls for 30-35 min till golden brown.
